Smart H: The Power of the Family

SMART H is the Comau family of high capacity robots designed to address a wide range of applications such as heavy duty handling, spot welding, and press line automation.

Built-in experience

The SMART H design (based on forefront technologies), two-and three-dimensional CAD, and FEM (Finite Element Modeling) incorporate all of Comau's unmatched experience stemming from hundreds of robotic lines sold all over the world.

Different applications, a common base

Each application requires different robot characteristics regarding acceleration, payload, work area, etc. while requirements such as reduction of cycle time, increased productivity and production quality are common to all applications.

With its four basic models, of which more than 20 versions are available (L or XL, double drive axis 1,shelf, etc.), together with a complete range of options and accessories, the SMART H is able to cover all application requirements.

The right material in the right place

Extremely strong iron base, welded steel structure for maximum rigidity, light aluminum, low inertia wrist: the material of each part of the robot has been carefully chosen considering each specific task .

15,000 hours of work with just 7 litres of oil. All axes are ISO class 320 oil lubricated to guarantee unfailing efficiency of the reducers: a complete oil change is required after 15,000 hours of operation (three years working through three shifts a day).

SMART H4 : TOTAL INNOVATION

New "Hollow wrist"

The SMART H4 features a spot welding dressing (air and water hoses, I-O signals and power cables) housed entirely inside the robot, running from the base to the tool-holder flange.

The SMART H4 has been developed applying state-of-the-art, highly reliable technology stemming from Comau's long-term, world-wide experience.

With its innovative hollow wrist that eliminates the need for rotary distributors that reduce capacity and the torque available at the wrist of the robot, the SMART H4 has a “real” payload of 200 kg.

Internal dressing

• Greater reliability and durability: 3 years on 3 shifts
• Reducing maintenance due to the protection that the arm gives to the cables
• Easy and reliable off-line programming
• No swivel ring is necessary: the "real" payload capacity of 200 kg is able to resolve all types of applications

The integrated dressing is pre-engineered for both pneumatic or servo guns and for the following functions: welding only, welding/manipulation, gun change.
